400mm x 300mm. Brush and ink on illustration board with ink wash. Early 1980s. A Birmingham businessman with interests in The Turf commissioned me to do a series of Racing Cartoons, which were printed as posters and distributed to a network of betting shops for publicity purposes. The drawings are slightly battered now, and interestingly stained and faded, but are in excellent condition. I've always liked them, and am even now a bit reluctant to let them go. They'll look great mounted and framed. This one is a MAD-type attempt to get every water jump gag I could think of into the picture. The wash was done with watered down fountain pen ink, and has faded to a sepia tone.
